The company’s B2B SaaS platform enabled businesses to remotely deploy, manage and update IoT and Edge devices with fleet sizes that went into the 100,000s. As Design Lead I contributed to the launch of features ranging from table enhancements for power users to an entirely new credits payment section.

WORK

The Dashboard

The dashboard was the core feature of the product, serving as an interface for users to manage their devices in real-time. Companies depended on this dashboard to provide services to their own users, often assigning dedicated team members to its maintenance. As the Lead Designer, this responsibility required me to implement new features with sensitivity, considering both the user’s experience and existing workflows.

At a fleet level users can comfortably manage 10,000s of devices, all enabled with a dedicated table design that includes power-user levels of functionally.

Once a user is looking at an individual device they have nearly complete control over it - able to update it, access it remotely and even power it off and on again. Design for this level of functionality required a clear hierarchy to manage the complexity.

Many areas of the UI contained controls and configuration settings created by the user, having a flexible design that accommodated for these was essential.
